Tonight was a wonderful meeting with the presence of God. So much so the video camera went off right as the message finished. I think the downside of video is people look at it and unless it is visually amazing they disregard the contents, many times. One friend of mine says every time God does things that are amazing they never seem to get caught on camera. Tonight was such a night!

There was no big flash no sonic boom but a real and tangible presence of the Holy Spirit for any willing to take the time to enter. It set me thinking about wind. Jesse played keyboard and sang. Much of it was spontaneous and for the first time I had an incredible experience of being pulled into such worship in a new way. As she sang I would feel the flow and be able to sing better than usual. Then I would stop and think about words and none would come worth singing. When I tried they felt so cheap so tacky so empty that I would be still and then the next wave would come and incredible words would flow that fitted so well and complimented what Jesse sang. As times the tune was almost a different melody but it flowed with her melody. Hard to describe but for me it was beautiful to be part of and experience.
We talk about the Holy Spirit as a wind and it became more of a revelation that the wind of the Holy Spirit is blowing but in a gentle but different direction. Many never take the time to pause and sense where it is going as they feel the wind and revert to what they know. Revert to the way it has been or figure they know how to flow with the wind. At that point the wind stops and we wait. There is a wind a new wind sure at first pleasure one could almost mistaken it for the wind they have always known, but to the one who takes the time to sit and enjoy the wind you start to understand it is different it is warmer, fuller and richer for now. It carries the answers the joy the fullness of time and the capacity to go beyond anything we have known or seen before.
This wind is a wind we must re-dress for. You see that old coat that we love so much needs to come off. To move with this wind we must dress properly. The things we have worn before looked good in their day but now to be comfortable take off some of the excess layers and let the holy Spirit re-dress us.

I know so little but what I do know is this . You can’t flow with yesterdays wind. It’s not blowing anymore!!!! Sure some can sense the new direction but in order to stay in this wind you must understand it changes course many moments of many days. As it changes course the only way to change with it is to be dressed right. Too much clothing and you never feel what is going on, never sense the changes. Too little clothing and you are busy hiding. Maybe clothing represents our sanctification, our actions for the day, our willingness to change course from our comfort zone, our ideas and ideals. Sure some of that old clothing looked good in its day and we could even say , how dare he suggest I need something new. To that I would say God love you, pray I can communicate better next time.

You see the NOW is about intimacy no intimacy no NOW. The book of Acts is caught not taught and if you feel you have caught it in its entirety then WOW! As for me I am enjoying kindergarten.
